Today’s Coffee is a Natural processed ☕️ from Ethiopia, which was roasted by the Legends at @rootandbranchcoffee 🤘🏻 Simon from R&B very kindly invited me down to their Roastery in East Belfast to gift us with their two latest Ethiopian offerings (1 Natural & 1 Washed) to try out 🙌🏻. R&B have been buying coffee from Israel Degfa the producer, since they started in 2016 and they’ve been thrilled to have had access to some of the lots from West Arsii one of his latest projects. This very remote area isn’t best known for its coffee grown, but in many respects, is one of the best kept secrets in the context of Ethiopian coffee. THE COFFEE

Location: Bale Mountain. Origin: Ethiopia. Varietal: Heirloom Process: Natural. Roast: Filter. Altitude: 1700 - 2000 masl. Roasters Notes: Cherry Cola, Floral, Tropical.

TASTE NOTES

The cup produced very sweet, floral aromas straight from the server, once it cooled slightly it had a syrupy/ sticky mouthful that reminded me of Flat Coke Cola (you know, sweet and syrupy with that sticky aftertaste), with taste notes of Cherries and Plums 😍 those notes produced a Sweet aftertaste with a beautifully Sweet and Syrupy finish. Bale Mountain was one of my favourite coffees from Root and Branch last year but I think that this years version it’s far better 👌🏻 next up is their washer Ethiopian ( 👀 peeled guys 🤘🏻) THE SCORE 🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖 8/10
