I’ve never ever tried a Geisha (At all 😔) since starting my coffee adventures, so it really was a huge treat when the head roaster Jakub of @black.svk brewed us up this Geisha/Caturra Blend from Peru whilst we were in Bratislava back in July. Now! not many coffees bring back memories for me, but this wee beauty took me straight back to Bratislava, sitting in @black.svk coffee shop with the sun beating of our backs chatting to Jakub about all things coffee. It truly was one of the highlights of the whole trip for me (coffee wise), Completely blew me away when I tried it in Bratislava and still continued to, when I brewed it up my self at home . Since 2010, Peru has been one of the leading countries exporting Arabica coffee. The remoteness of the farms and their small size prevented greater differentiation of individual farms, which would allow the development and marketing of microlots in different growing regions, but, like everything else in specialty coffee, this fact is changing very quickly.

Today you drink coffee from El Cerro farm in the Cajamarca region, which has been producing a really great product since 1997.The owner, Efrain Carhuallocllo grows mainly caturra and geisha varieties and is able to produce about 4500 kilograms of coffee per year. He says that in addition to education for his five children, he wants a new van to continually improve their coffee's Quality Score.

It had such a full body and I mean full, with this Smooth Caramel mouthfeel, well Balanced and In the cup there was this beautiful taste note of Juicy Strawberries with an unusual note of Peppermint that tickles your tongue immediately after those strawberry notes 😋. The after taste was of Sweet oranges, a truly remarkable coffee and experience every sip shot me straight back to my trip in Bratislava and not many coffees can do that. For the second time well played @black.svk well played 🙏🏻 THE SCORE
